About

I was born in Chatham, England in 1980.  I had a pretty normal childhood.  I went to some good schools, got into a bit of mischief, and made some lifelong friends along the way.

In 2000, I moved to the United States of America, where I remained for a little over 14 years.  It was there that I met my wife, Lindsay.  And, sadly, it was there that I lost her too.  Lindsay passed away in 2012, leaving me broken and lost.

Having struggled with depression most of my life, I once again sought solace in drugs and alcohol.  In 2014, I decided to return to England, with hopes of turning my life around.  A year later, I injured my back at work.  Being unable to do much of anything anymore, I turned back to drugs, and my life spiralled out of control.  My mental health continued to decline.

Barely a week after my 40th birthday, I finally realised that my life was headed nowhere fast.

I have always enjoyed reading, watching movies, and playing video games.  The latter, especially, has given me escape from my mind during my sober moments.  And, now that I am clean, I find these to be more helpful than ever before.

The current pandemic has pushed back my surgery date, leading to, again, a worsening mental state.  It is no small truth that video games have saved my life several times already; and continue to do so.

Now I find myself stuck at my Mother’s house (Yes, I’ve had to move back to my Mum’s!), unable to move about too much, due to the pain.

It is definitely time for me to do something productive!

After spending far too much time online, I have decided to try and share my enjoyment for video games, general thoughts, and some other random topics.  And it all begins with this blog!

Thank you ever so much for joining me on my journey!
